Foliage

The series is a grid of twenty individual images, each of which consists of a delicate surrounding of branches against a deep black ground, creating a void. Beautiful and haunting in their own particular way, they have a dual function: the foliage beckons the viewer forward into that vacuum, making palpable an innate sense of attraction and repulsion.
