Saved
At the time, this series seemed more about beauty, pathos, form and longing. But decades later, I realize this work was born out of living in the AIDS pandemic in a city ravaged by the disease. People’s things became meaningless once they were no longer there to own them. The objects were clearly imbued with meaning and pathos, vibrating with longing. Who owned these things was irrelevant but ultimately became significant when I looked at them years later.
Series of 39 images (gelatin-silver prints) made between 1995 - 1997. 33 images at 24 x 20 inches framed, and 6 images at various sizes from 44 x 36 and 51 x 40 1/2 inches framed
